There is a rasp on one side and sandpaper on the other and the rasp is removable for cleaning etc. I play some golf (usually carrying my clubs) and I am looking something to wear down the caluses on my feet and hands. This is a bit dainty for my needs but I suspect that it is satisfactory for most situations. It is of very cheap quality--the "file" part of it fell off in the first week and was a very thin sliver of sand paper. The rasp is also useless. Mine has gone in the garbage. I have had better pedicure files for a fraction of the cost of this junk. So save your money and look elsewhere for a decent product.
