I'm a barefoot babe and flip-flop freak with no time to primp. My occassional moments in the shower with my pumice stone and rarely remembering lotion wasn't keeping my tootsies in tip top condition, so I declared war! My first salvo was daily devotion to the pumice stone. I really couldn't tell that it was doing much at all. Next strategy: getting some special socks with a liner that allowed you to apply special creams to the heel area. These got groady quick, and they were weird feeling, cold and squishy when you walked around, but I wore them -- not much improvement, so I stopped using them. Then I decided that the secret was dedication, so every morning at work, I'd apply the cream and stay put until the cream absored-- not very hard to do, since I spend 80% of my day at the computer anyway. Still, not much improvement. If I skipped a couple days, like over the weekend, it seemed I was back to square one.I added the Artemis Woman Heel Smoother to my wish list... I would also like to add that until age 50, shoes were definitely an optional accessory in my wardrobe. I decided I had to do something about them when the man that was dating referred to my feet as "monkey feet." Let's just say that over the years, I had developed callouses that, on a good day, could only be surgically removed. I have been through creams, lotions, and every type of device that was developed... or at least it seemed that way. Did I mention that I tried sandpaper on my feet?I have never written a review on Amazon before, however, after trying this product, I had to write a review. The heel smoother is easy to use, It has two speeds one for gentle removal of dead skin and the other for industrial strength callouses. I have many other devices and have had corns, calluses etc. Those sometimes pass with change in footware, but I always have SOME problems. This product is good and may be better for those who have someone to assist on foot bottoms, but I found it pretty good even for me as I do my own |
